Help for Syrian Refugees in Jordan

The following post presents the words from a friend who is working with Operation Blessing International. We are providing Jennifer’s personal account. For additional information we refer you to Operation Blessing Intl.‘s website.

————————————————————————————————

I have been working with the Syrian refugees in Jordan for about the past year now. We just recently went to Jordan on Sept 9th. These are some pictures I took. The situation in Jordan is severe and that does not count Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq and other countries where they are fleeing. To hear their stories up close and personal is heartbreaking. The people have fled with NOTHING and I repeat NOTHING. We are trying to raise money to help them. My boss was here and he is a filmmaker so he took video. You will be able to see that in a few days on www.ob.org.

From listening to these stories, even if the US did something to deter the situation of the systematic killing of the Syrians, it would be worth it. Sometimes you have to put your comfort/thoughts/resources aside to help those in need and to defend those who cannot defend themselves. Social justice is a major theme in the bible throughout the prophets. I am in a position to change the situations of the refugees and I am going to do my best to make that happen.

Jennifer’s Coworker Providing Support

IMG_7649jaOf note, what you might not expect … The Israeli’s and I are working together on this. Yes, the Israelis want to help the Syrians and I am here to tell you that it is happening more than you know and more than you will hear.

IMG_7810ja

At this point we have delivered food, clothing, blankets to the refugees about 7,500 so far. We are working to meet the ongoing needs of Refugees as the come across the border with absolutely nothing. The take their family which could be as many as 12-20 people in one family and cross the border overnight. They come into the towns and villages looking for shelter and food. The UN camp is to capacity at 120,000 people. The UN is trying to build two more camps but in the mean time, the refugees overflow into the towns to stay in abandoned buildings, with families or anywhere they can find. You can see UN tents scattered around northern Jordan, one here, two there, a few clustered together. We were taken to one makeshift camp of 25 families, about 160 people. They were telling us that we were the only people who had come to help them. No one else has come. We supplied them with food and the returned with 100 blankets the next day.

IMG_7591ja

As you stand face to face with these people who are soldiers, teachers, bakers, people of every kind you can’t help but think, “if I were in your shoes what would I want you to do for me?” The only answer I can come up with is to change their situation in any way possible. That means food, water, medication, shelter, work, any type of provision is something. Each one of these areas is being considered as we address those who want to help in this situation. The winter is coming and in northern Jordan it is already cool at night. The terrain is dry and open so the wind cuts across the area and it does get very cold.

IMG_7851ja

The winter is coming and in northern Jordan it is already cool at night. The terrain is dry and open so the wind can come across the area and it does get cold.  I met a few women who have newborns that they gave birth to in their tents. There is no food, no milk, no supplies for the children. They have only a little when it comes to clothing. They are stranded in a situation that needs to be changed.

There is no food, no milk, no supplies for the children. I am working with Arabs, Christians and Jews to assist the Syrians. We have cut across the political, social and religious aspects of this situation to get to the heart of the matter – meet the needs of the refugee.

Isaiah 58:6-10 speaks of a true fast and if you see the hungry to feed him, the naked to clothe them, to provide shelter for the poor wanderer with shelter. We cannot sit idly by while these people suffer. It is our duty as human beings to respond and show that we do care and that we can change the situation.

We at WindowView.org believe that the larger picture on what is happening and will happen in the Middle East requires the compassion, understanding, and love that the Heavenly Father provides to all. If inspired, please visit Operation Blessing Intl.‘s website and consider how you might help. At the very least, be aware that the popular media hardly reports the complete story of events in the Middle East. Here are pictures from the full view.

August Israel News Summary

From David Dolan’s latest post:

The Middle East appears to be on the brink of possible all-out war as the United States prepares to respond militarily to the apparent Syrian regime use of chemical weapons on a major scale last week. Israeli officials are warning that embattled Syrian dictator Bashar Assad may order his Hizbullah ally to launch a major rocket assault upon the small Jewish State in response to any significant US action. How Iran and other enemy countries might respond to such action is anybody’s guess, but the chances the situation could spiral totally out of control are being seriously asked at present in Israel. Naturally this month’s Israel news report of looks at the situation in Syria, although it begins with the crisis rocking Egypt.

Despite the growing prospects of wider military action in the region, I wish all of my Jewish friends in Israel and around the world a shana tova, or a good new year ahead as we begin the calendar year 5774 next week.

Middle East Noise and Global Domestic Moral Decay

The news clips below for the most part reveal the constant friction in Israel. And at some point everyone will throw up their hands and accept a peace plan offered by one strong ‘leader.’ Beware that one may ultimately be a lawless peace maker and that portends troubles greater than anything … Ever.

But elsewhere around the world we are slipping into the idolatry and moral decay of ancient Greece. The acceptance of legalizing private sodomy between consenting adults is embraced by a President and other congress persons, recently, with song, in parliament in New Zealand, in France, in Cuba, and elsewhere a global trend. As if this is a human right. The Greeks openly did such behaviors in public … How soon will it be in the world today? However, it’s slipping into the backdrop as a human right for same sex marriage. Okay, so if there is no God and no hell … folks need not worry … but we wonder how long the US coinage will state “In Go We Trust.” The next round of slipping on moral decay comes with the last clip below … does anyone teach the child morals? Is a pill freely obtained the way out … or is there another dilemma we fail to address in all this.

The WindowView is less about commentary or opinion than it is on drawing attention to perspectives … some biblical. So look at the stories … these are the data of the day … and ask yourself … What if there really is God and heaven … is hell where this world is headed … what about you?

HEADLINE: Settlers, Palestinians clash in the West Bank

The incidents came hours after a Palestinian from Tulkarem stabbed to death Evyatar Borowsky, a 31-year-old father of five from the settlement of Yitzhar, as he waited at a bus stop at the Tapuah junction in the West Bank.

The attacker grabbed Borowsky’s gun and opened fire on border police at an adjacent checkpoint. The police returned fire, wounding the terrorist before apprehending him. He was taken to an Israeli hospital for treatment.

HEADLINE: Israel sends message to foes to North and South

Tuesday’s air force strike in Gaza was a surgical, precise attack on a weapons manufacturing expert who, according to the security forces, played a key role in developing the rocket capabilities for global jihadi groups in the Gaza Strip.

It is these small but highly radical al-Qaida-inspired organizations, led by the Ashura Council of Holy Fighters in the Environs of Jerusalem, that refuse to recognize or abide by the Israel-Hamas truce, and that use both the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip as a rocket launching pad to strike at southern Israel.

The air strike contains a number of messages for Palestinian armed factions in Gaza. For global jihadis, it signals Israel’s ability to wait patiently for its intelligence services to mark out those behind ongoing rocket attacks, and to act without hesitation once the targets become exposed.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will address the Knesset on the topic of the Arab League’s flexibility on pre-1967 lines, after all 52 opposition MKs signed a petition on Tuesday requiring him to do so.

US Government lowers ‘morning after pill’ age to 15, to be sold over-the-counter

In a surprise twist to the decade-plus effort to ease access to morning-after pills, the government is lowering the age limit to 15 for one brand – Plan B One-Step – and will let it be sold over the counter.

Today, Plan B and its generic competition are sold behind pharmacy counters, and people must prove they’re 17 or older to buy the emergency contraception without a prescription. A federal judge had ordered an end to those sales restrictions by next Monday.

But Tuesday, the Food and Drug Administration approved a different approach: Plan B could sit on drugstore shelves next to condoms, spermicides or other women’s health products – but to make the purchase, buyers must prove they’re 15 or older at the cash register.

HEADLINE: Kerry says ‘window’ for Mideast peace only 2 years

Secretary of state promises House Foreign Affairs Committee to ‘honor that urgency’ but won’t lay out a schedule for talks

Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday underlined the difficulty he will face in trying to chart a path toward Mideast peace, urging patience on the details of any two-state plan while stressing that Israel and the Palestinians might only have two years left for a deal.

He told the House Foreign Affairs Committee that he was committed to breaking a logjam that includes nearly no Israeli-Palestinian talks in the past 4½ years and no solution in sight after more than six decades of conflict.

HEADLINE: Two rockets fired on Eilat

Two rockets were fired on the southern city of Eilat Wednesday morning. Initial reports said one landed in a residential neighborhood and the other in an open area in the outskirts of the city. No injuries were reported.

HEADLINE: Al Qaeda Link Probed: Investigated in Boston blasts

However, initial reports indicate the bombs were fashioned from pressure cookers and designed to avoid detection by bomb-sniffing dogs. Investigators believe the devices were delivered in duffle bags and are now searching surveillance video of Boston for clues. An al Qaeda magazine in 2010 directed terrorists to use kitchen materials to make bombs, including pressure cooking bombs, for killing “tens” of people.

The bombs contained metal pieces designed to increase their lethality. The official said the use of a pressure cooker bomb device also is an indication that more than one person was involved in the attacks.

The details on the apparently crude but deadly explosives emerged as investigators appealed to the public for amateur video and photos that might yield clues. The chief FBI agent in Boston vowed “we will go to the ends of the Earth” to find those responsible.

A person who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was still going on said the explosives were put in 6-liter kitchen pressure cookers, hidden in black duffel bags and left on the ground. They were packed with shrapnel, the person said.

HEADLINE: Envelope tests positive for ricin at Washington mail facility

An envelope that tested positive for the deadly poison ricin was intercepted Tuesday afternoon at the U.S. Capitol’s off-site mail facility in Washington, congressional and law enforcement sources told CNN.

The letter was addressed to the office of Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Mississippi. A laboratory in Maryland confirmed the presence of ricin after initial field tests indicated the poison was present, Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Terrance Gainer said. The letter had a Memphis, Tennessee, postmark and no return address.

HEADLINE: Letter sent to Obama tests positive for ricin, FBI says

The FBI has confirmed that a letter addressed to President Obama has “preliminarily tested positive” for ricin, a day after lawmakers said another letter sent to the Capitol Hill office of Sen. Roger Wicker tested positive for the same substance.

The warnings come amid a flurry of reports on suspicious packages. Fox News has learned of several suspicious packages or envelopes in various Capitol Hill office buildings. Capitol Police say three packages that were flagged have been removed and the areas have been cleared. Separately, the office of Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., reported a “suspicious-looking letter” at one of the senator’s Michigan offices; and a spokesman for Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., reported a “suspicious letter” was intercepted at Flake’s Phoenix office.

HEADLINE: 7.8 Quake kills at least 46 along Iran-Pakistan border; strongest quake to hit Iran in 50 years

A major earthquake described as the strongest to hit Iran in more than half a century flattened homes and offices Tuesday on both sides of the Iran-Pakistan border, killing at least 46 people in the sparsely populated region and swaying skyscrapers and buildings as far away as New Delhi.

Iran’s Red Crescent said it was facing a “complicated emergency situation” in the area with villages scattered over desolate hills and valleys.

Iran’s semiofficial ISNA news agency and others described the quake, measured at magnitude 7.8, as the strongest quake in more than 50 years. State-run Press TV called it a “massive quake.

What you make of the news depends on what you see through your window. For us, we look at science, change, and scripture data to see there is one path forward. Driving forces move humanity along time. And some of those forces are made evident in the daily news as we approach the end of the current era.

Materially, scientifically, we can say the solutions to human dilemmas are out there before us. But turmoil within the human community make prospects for real progress less likely. In the Middle East … a man of peace will step forward … Scripture says ‘he’ will, but watch out … for as the last story above tells us; there are birth pangs evident … along with wars and rumors of wars … and then … Well, it’s that ‘driving forces thing’ that pays attention to no one man.

All you need do is take a look at the information streaming through the window … and you’ll see it!

Peace Now? Holocaust No More?

This week we see two contrasting points regarding Israel and the prospect for world peace. First, we have every reason to believe a man of peace will broker some kind of solution regarding Israel. But there is more to it than peace now. Second, the reminder of the Holocaust brings equal weight to this picture … because based on Scripture, current events are unfolding along lines that are expected. Turmoil is still in the offing, according to what we read.

We are not making predictions here. The WindowView is more observational in nature, but then what we observe is rather awesome. Regarding peace, we find it refreshing and curious that President Obama’s second administration is now making the “big push” to broker a resolution. Why would now work more than before? We are watching, but also mindful that any significant move here may well fall deeper into biblical expectations … and wouldn’t that be remark-able!

But regarding the holocaust of nearly 7 decades ago, the prospect of a brokered peace in the Middle East brings events that remind us the the slogan of “Never Again” will have to wait out the turmoil that follows the peace accord. These words fit the scenarios that align with the end of our WindowView timeline. Visit our Timeline to see what those events are in a chronology that comes out of Scripture. This is mot of our making, it’s observational, simply because it was written before our generation arrived at this point in time.

Look out the window, think, and maybe do some study of your own. In the mean time, the headlines below do fall along the lines that being us to perspectives reaching the event horizon ahead.

HEADLINE: John Kerry visits Jerusalem to push for renewed Israeli-Palestinian peace talks

Secretary of State John Kerry worked Monday to corral Israeli and Palestinian leaders into a new and ambitious peace process that includes reviving parts of a long-dormant plan embraced by the Arab world a decade ago, officials said.

Kerry’s foremost goal is to restart direct Israeli-Palestinian peace talks that have hardly taken place at all over the last 4 1/2 years. And, in a break from previous American-led efforts, he also wants to focus on a modified version of the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.

HEADLINE: In Auschwitz, Israeli army chief vows to prevent a ‘second Holocaust’

IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz on Monday led the March of the Living at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland and lit a torch in memory of the victims of the Holocaust. Gantz vowed that Israel’s army would stand ready to protect the Jewish people from future danger and harm.

He was joined by Tel Aviv’s Chief Rabbi Israel Meir Lau, himself a child survivor of the camp, and some 10,000 other participants, many of them young people, on the three-kilometer walk Monday afternoon.

“Each and every one of you — members of our nation and its friends, Jewish and non-Jewish alike — is the living proof of the victory of light; victory of morality; the triumph of Israel; that from the destruction of the Holocaust we grew stronger as a nation and as a people,” Gantz said in a speech.

HEADLINE: In Jerusalem and Ramallah, Kerry pushes peace

U.S. secretary of state said exploring 2002 Arab Peace Initiative, with greater security commitments and softer language on borders

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is looking to breathe new life into dormant Mideast peace talks in meetings Monday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior Israeli and Palestinian officials, amid talk of modifying a decade-old Arab plan that’s long been greeted with skepticism by the Jewish state.

A day after meeting one-on-one with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Kerry spent the morning of Israel’s Holocaust memorial day at Yad Vashem, laying down a red, white and blue wreath at the nation’s official monument for the 6 million Jews murdered during World War II. He was to meet privately Monday with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and Israeli President Shimon Peres, before a dinner with Netanyahu and other Israeli officials.

HEADLINE: Kerry Offers P.A. ‘Incentives’ to Restart Peace Talks

Secretary of State John Kerry began his second visit to Israel Sunday afternoon in Ramallah, where he reportedly offered Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas incentives to restart negotiations with Israel, the P.A.’s official Ma’an News Agency reported Sunday.

According to the report, Kerry offered the following incentives:
· Ensure Israel will not withhold future tax revenues
· Extend P.A. jurisdiction in Area C, which is currently under full Israeli sovereignty under the terms of the Oslo Accords.
· Allow Palestinians to build “more freely” in Area C

Abbas also reportedly demanded the release of all Palestinian prisoners engaging in hunger strikes.

Meanwhile, Ma’an says Abbas told President Obama last month there would be no return to negotiations without a “settlement freeze.” He also reportedly said Netanyahu must present a map showing the final borders of a future state before talks can resume. Abbas wants Netanyahu to agree on 1967 borders and also is demanding the release of Palestinian prisoners engaged in hunger strikes.

HEADLINE: Afghanistan: Taliban Kill Six Americans, including State Dept. diplomat

On Saturday, Taliban militants killed six Americans, including a young female diplomat in the deadliest day in Afghanistan for the U.S. in eight months. Three members of the military, two U.S. civilians and an Afghan doctor died after being hit by an explosion while travelling to donate books to a school in the south.

In a statement, Secretary of State John Kerry paid tribute to Anne Smedinghoff, a 25-year-old foreign service officer with the U.S. State Department, who was killed in the “despicable attack” in the province of Zabul. The Illinois woman is the first American diplomat to die on the job since last year’s attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.

The world is not in a peaceful state. Global change, especially the now obvious shifts due to climate change are NOT being attended to by a collaborative effort of all nations. Economies are resting on shifting sand. We are looking at an event horizon that approaches, but humanity is not looking beyond its nose … and yet we at the window have certain expectations for what that means. Science, Change, Harmony, and Time are panes of glass in the window … Take a look.

Events Deliver a Crossroads with Prophetic Implications

As before we are highlighting today’s headlines from Watch.org. This is almost TOO MUCH to believe … a president who will push for a peace in the Middle East by leveraging all he can do and a Pope who brings to the surface a prophecy that speaks to “The End.” And you are ALIVE to see this today!

Consider the following headlines!

HEADLINE: US may increase pressure on Iran in exchange for progress with Palestinians

US President Barack Obama will reportedly offer to up pressure on Iran in exchange for Israeli concessions toward the Palestinians when he visits Israel next month.

According to a British paper, two top Netanyahu aides dispatched to Washington, Yaakov Amidror and Yitzhak Molcho, are laying the groundwork for a Tehran-for-Ramallah deal, which the White House is open to.

As part of the deal, Obama would be asked to ramp up pressure on Iran to pull back from its nuclear program, and in exchange Israel would hold talks with the PA on borders, security and even final status issues such as Jerusalem and settlements.

HEADLINE: Netanyahu names main topics for Obama visit

Netanyahu said that he and Obama have agreed on three main topics to be discussed during the visit: Iran’s nuclear program, the volatile situation in Syria and its effects on regional security and attempts to further the peace process with the Palestinians.

Meanwhile, the New York Times reported Sunday that Israel is considering giving the Palestinians partial control over some areas of the West Bank, as well as releasing prisoners and freezing settlement construction ahead of Obama’s visit.

The paper further reported that the United States is expected to release $200 million in aid to the Palestinian Authority that it has withheld for months.

HEADLINE: Pope Benedict XVI to resign citing poor health

Pope Benedict XVI is to resign at the end of this month after nearly eight years as the head of the Catholic Church, saying he is too old to continue at the age of 85.

The unexpected development – the first papal resignation in nearly 600 years – surprised governments, Vatican-watchers and even his closest aides.

The Vatican says it expects a new Pope to be elected before Easter.

HEADLINE: Lightning hits St Peter’s hours after Pope Benedict stuns cardinals with first resignation in 600 years

Lightning strikes the basilica of St.Peter’s dome earlier this evening during a storm that struck Rome on the same day Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation

HEADLINE: St. Malachy predicted Pope Benedict’s successor will be last pope

The Irish prophet Saint Malachy has predicted that the next Pope after Benedict will be the last and he will be “Peter the Roman, who will nourish the sheep in many tribulations; when they are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The end.”

The prophecies of the Irish saint Malachy, the 12th century bishop of Armagh have thrilled and dismayed readers for centuries. He has stated there will be only one more pope after Benedict, and during his reign comes the end of the world.

The prediction in full is “In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations, after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End.”

Experts say it could refer to an Italian pope who would take Peter’s name.

The Window View

A closing thought … Scroll down and consider the concept we present in our brief video on the days of Noah. All of this really goes together quite nicely … and tell a friend … the plot thickens and you just have to keep your eyes open … and remember, it was written ahead of time a long time ago … so to speak none of this is really a surprise …

What’s Happening in the Middle East – Part II

NEWS SOURCES TO CHECK

Our readers have searched the web for “Middle East,” “events,” “news,” and simply “what’s going on in the Middle East.” We previously responded with a link to World Watch Daily‘s web site (watch.org). Many of their daily reports relate to global politics, events related to Israel and the Arab states in the Middle East.

MEMRI: Here is another source that may open eyes with disturbing implications for days to come. The video posted below is provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI.org). We also encourage a visit to their home page and a reading of their “About Us” information. This is a web site to take seriously, by East and West!

DISTURBING BUT NOT UNEXPECTED — IS WAR SOON ON THE HORIZON?

The words expressed in the following MEMRI video fall in line, exactly, with what the Bible tells us will happen in the days ahead. The reality of this video footage brings us uncomfortably close to dire events … but as Scripture has it … these events will happen … the human will expressed is not peaceful but intent on bloodshed.

How do the majority of Muslims view these events —personally and deep from within the consciousness of a difference between good and evil — especially regarding the news from radical or extreme elements from the Middle East.

More importantly, we ask if the broader Arab public understands that the desire to invade and take over Israel and Jerusalem is recorded as the exact events that bring back the Messiah of Israel. That is a fact. This video ‘walks’ right into fulfilling the verses of Scripture – exactly! Get it? It’s real today in your presence — undeniably!

The Bible clearly states ‘nations’ will turn on Israel and that Jerusalem will be a focal point of battle and its people ravished, defiled, and persecuted. The Koran isn’t warning Muslims that jihad ends up in judgement by the Messiah, but then isn’t this exactly the direction we see from Egypt in the video?

THE WINDOW

Again, the window’s view is one of looking, thinking, and discerning for ourselves. With a world wide web of information access, any one of us can find out what is happening in the Middle East … and further draw conclusions about where the world is headed … to peace and harmony or to judgement.
