October 17 – End Time Signs – Mounting Evidence the World is Turning a Corner

Take a sobering look at the news feed from the Middle East. For those in the West, take note that the network news is typically sanitized and there is never a mention of how we are headed right into biblical end time factors … which include religious  friction around the temple mount in Jerusalem and the nations continually circling in war patterns in the region. The following is from watch.org:

  • OCTOBER 17, 2015
  •  Israel will never agree to the stationing of international forces on Temple Mount, Jerusalem’s new envoy to the United Nations, Danny Danon, said on Friday.

“If you are serious about promoting peace, if you are really committed to advancing co-existence in our region, make a clear statement against the incitement that fuels terror, support direct negotiations,” Danon said on Friday, addressing the international community and the UN Security Council.

Danon held a press conference just before the council’s emergency meeting on the situation in the Middle East, which has seen an escalation in violence.

“When a Palestinian child opens the television he doesn’t see Barney or Donald Duck, he sees murderers portrayed as heroes,” he said. “When he opens a textbook to do his homework, he doesn’t learn about math and science, he is being taught to hate.”

  •  France is drafting a ‘presidential statement’ in order to advance a plan to station international observers at Jerusalem’s Temple Mount to ensure that the status quo at the site is preserved, French daily Le Figaro reported on Saturday, quoting French diplomatic sources.

French Ambassador to the UN Francois Delattre said, at an emergency meeting on Friday of the UN Security Council on the ongoing violence between Israel and the Palestinians, that he would circulate a draft statement to the council that would appeal for calm and restraint and for a revival of the stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace process, and for maintaining the status quo at the Temple Mount.

Statements by the 15-member council must be agreed unanimously.

  • Iran said on Saturday that its recent test launch of a long-range missile does not violate UN Security Council resolutions as claimed by the United States and France.

“Our missile tests have nothing to do with Resolution 2231, which only mentions missiles designed to carry nuclear warheads,” Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif told a news conference.

Speaking in Tehran alongside his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier, he added: “None of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s missiles have been designed for nuclear capabilities.”

  •  The United States has confirmed that Iran tested a medium-range missile capable of delivering a nuclear weapon, in “clear violation” of a United Nations Security Council ban on ballistic missile tests, a senior US official said on Friday.

“The United States is deeply concerned about Iran’s recent ballistic missile launch,” US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power said in a statement.

“After reviewing the available information, we can confirm that Iran launched on Oct. 10 a medium-range ballistic missile inherently capable of delivering a nuclear weapon,” she said. “This was a clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1929.”

  •  At Security Council meeting, UN chief’s representative says both sides to blame for violence, criticizes Israel’s ‘heavy-handed’ actions.

Israel on Friday rejected Palestinian calls for an international force to be deployed in East Jerusalem to promote calm around the Temple Mount and the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque.

“Let me be crystal clear — Israel will not agree to any international presence on the Temple Mount. Such a presence would be a change in the status quo,” Israeli Deputy Ambassador David Roet told the UN Security Council.

The 15-member council met in an emergency session to discuss weeks of escalating violence between Israel and the Palestinians in Jerusalem and the territories.

  •  Abbas orders inquiry after rioters set compound on fire; Palestinian security forces extinguish blaze; Israel preparing for clashes in West Bank, Gaza after Friday prayers.

Palestinians set alight parts of Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus overnight Thursday as they rioted and threw Molotov cocktails, while security forces have prepared for confrontations on Friday.

Palestinian security forces chased the arsonists away and put out the fire.

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai and the head of the Civil Administration Brig. Gen. David Menachem spoke with Palestinian officials regarding the incident, who condemned it.

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas ordered the formation of an inquiry commission on the incident, which was described in the official Palestinian news agency as an irresponsible act. Abbas also instructed immediate repairs to the site.

    END TIMES EXPECTATION:

We understand, anyone reading to this point in the post may be saying noting is new in Israel or the Middle East. But that glosses over the point that in the final stages of the end times, there will be a peace pact, a covenant of seven years, set aside for the sake of the temple and peace in Jerusalem … tensions today are taking us in that very direction. The Bible be true, the rest of what will happen has already been laid out in detail … if, in fact you care to read ahead.

Week of May 6 – continued Stress and Fractures in Middle East

If the battles and struggles over establishing a new national identity called Palestine was not also rooted in an ideology that originated in the seventh and eighth centuries … then the peace effort would merely be one of logistics and getting about the business of running civil governments. But it’s not merely civil, pun intended, because even the one liner below about naming of a capitol tells us nothing here is ever going to be simple … because of ideological presumptions.

Those who have studied the Bible have already “read ahead” and sort of know what’s coming. A chronology of events described long before any writings of other religious writings now seems to be in effect. We don’t say every news event is a specific element of that chronology, but many help support and buttress the chronological sequence. The main plot we see is a struggle that entails sustaining Israel now and forever. So the take over plot of Jerusalem is a lost cause that evidently must be played out first. If you read ahead, a New Jerusalem lives on, there is no mention of Palestine in the eternal chronology.

BTW, the words of Isaiah about the demise of Damascus just seem to come to mind as the physical state ot Syria and Damascus itself continue to crumble.

HEADLINE: Iran says will turn Golan into ‘Fatahland’

After alleged Israel attack on Syria, Iran issues war-like declarations, orders Assad army to protect homeland, according to Hezbollah-affiliated newspaper. ‘Front open to Syrians, Palestinians, to all who wish to fight Israel’
The report also said that Nasrallah recently participated in more than one session of the Hezbollah’s “Jihad Council.” The newspaper claimed that during these meetings, the secretary-general stated, “Israel believes that if it attacks facilities and strategic stockpiles, it changes the resistance capabilities. This is an erroneous assessment.” He said,”The reason being that the stocks of the resistance have been filled with all that it needs.”

Nasrallah also warned, “If Israel attacks any (arms) cache of Hezbollah in Lebanon, the response will be immediate and total war.”

HEADLINE: Keeping up marathon meetings, Livni and Kerry to parley

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni will meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Rome this week as efforts intensify to bring Israelis and Palestinians to the negotiating table for peace talks.

Kerry will meet with Livni, who is managing Israel’s diplomatic efforts vis-avis the Palestinians, on Wednesday, the State Department said early Tuesday.

Livni, who met with Kerry last week, called the renewed effort “good news.” Kerry “is completely involved, determined” to restart negotiations, which have largely been frozen since 2008, she said.

Livni applauds decision

Livni applauds Yesh Atid for putting ‘good of the people before politics’ in pursuing an agreement with the Palestinians.

The centrist Yesh Atid party on Monday came out against the idea of legislating a national referendum on any future peace agreement with the Palestinian Authority, effectively stymieing the initiative, which was being championed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The party, headed by Finance Minister Yair Lapid, reached the decision after a lengthy discussion at a faction meeting, Yesh Atid said in a statement. The decision established a majority against the initiative in the Cabinet, and pits Lapid against Netanyahu and his close coalition partner Economics and Trade Minister Naftali Bennett, aligning him with Justice Minister Tzipi Livni (Hatnua) and Avigdor Liberman’s Yisrael Beytenu party.

HEADLINE: Billions of locust eggs hatch in the Negev

The locust swarms that entered Israel in March and April, although prevented from causing major crop damage by an intensive spraying campaign, still left behind billions of eggs that are now hatching.

The newly hatched locusts could be a real disaster for crops, especially when they gain the ability to fly, Negev Regional Council head Shmuel Rifman warned.

“The Agriculture Ministry has lost control and doesn’t have the appropriate tools to destroy billions of locusts,” he said in a Channel 10 TV interview Monday night, appealing to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to declare a state of emergency in the Negev.

Cyber Society, Russia dictatorship, China’s US Oil — Did You See It Coming?

So much of the Internet is infused into modern life, that corporate squabbles or militaristic hacking threatens the flow of information we consider the “new normal” to life today. The biggest cyber attack will surely be followed by more. And yet one day, the Internet will stream images from Jerusalem … be ready to compare the ancient text to modern visions as they occur.

And Russia never finds rest as the power within reveals yet another heavy fist … we hear even Russians are protesting Putin’s power, the protests are new, the Russian propensity for dictatorship is not. Gog and Magog … that too will stream across the Internet.

And after spending over 700 Billions dollars to secure Iraq, the US effort helps China’s need for oil. Billions spent by a military could have been spent to put solar panels on homes in the US. Only a few lives might be lost due to panel installation accidents and the demand for prosthetic limbs would have been marginal … no roadside bombs to take legs and arms … just electrons flowing into a national grid. How did politicians miss this? China doesn’t care as long as oil flows their way at the expense of anyone, including the US military. Ironic isn’t it!

Is the world a fair place? Are we all experiencing peace and cooperation?
Might our human driving forces directing us to more conflicts than resolutions?

Sit at the window … read a few headlines … think about where all of this leads us.

HEADLINE: ‘Biggest cyber-attack in history’ slows down global internet after quarrel between web-hosting company and anti-spam group

A row between an anti-spam group and a web-hosting company has caused a slowdown in the global internet after what experts are calling the biggest cyber-attack in history.

Internet services across the world have been disrupted and widespread congestion presented the risk of crucial online infrastructure becoming jammed.

Millions of web users have experienced disruption to services such as Netflix along with longer than usual delays in loading websites. Experts are now concerned that the congestion could lead to banking and email systems being slowed down.

HEADLINE: Fears for NGOs in Russia as tax raids multiply

Senior EU officials have voiced concern as checks by Russian tax inspectors on foreign-funded non-governmental organisations multiply. On Wednesday searches took place at the Moscow offices of Human Rights Watch and Transparency International.

Two German political NGOs were searched earlier in Moscow and St Petersburg. Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle summoned the number two diplomat at the Russian embassy in Berlin to relay his “concern over the concerted action”.

Russia continued its series of raids on non-governmental organizations on Wednesday with visits to Human Rights Watch and Transparency International. The operation, say German commentators, is just the latest sign that Russian civil society is eroding and President Putin is turning into a dictator.

On Wednesday, it was the turn of Human Rights Watch and Transparency International. Representatives of the two non-governmental organizations said that officials from the Russian prosecutor general’s office and from the tax police had arrived at their Moscow branches for an “unannounced audit.”

The searches represent the continuation of a series of raids staged by Russian authorities against foreign non-governmental organizations in recent weeks. Some 2,000 NGOs have been targeted.

Ten years after the United States invaded and occupied Iraq, the country’s oil industry is poised to boom and make the troubled nation the No.2 oil exporter in the world. But the nation that’s moving to take advantage of Iraq’s riches isn’t the United States. It’s China.

America, with its own homegrown energy bonanza, isn’t going after the petroleum that lies beneath Iraq’s sands nearly as aggressively as is China, a country hungry to fuel its rise as an economic power.

The International Energy Agency expects China to become the main customer for Iraq’s vast oil reserves. Fatih Birol, the agency’s chief economist, recently declared “a new trade axis is being formed between Baghdad and Beijing.” Birol said that about 80 percent of Iraq’s future oil exports were expected to go to Asia, mainly to China.

Arab League approves $1 billion plan to protect ‘Islamic and Arab character’ of East Jerusalem

Israel FM in response: “Objecting to ‘Judaisation of Jerusalem,’ so to speak, is absurd and is equitable to an objection to the Catholic nature of the Vatican or the Islamisation of Mecca.”

The Arab League on Tuesday approved a Qatari proposal to set up a $1 billion fund for Arab East Jerusalem, which Palestinians want as the capital of an independent state under any peace deal with Israel.

Arabs say that Israeli settlement-building on land captured in the 1967 Middle East war, including Arab East Jerusalem, has made a two-state solution backed by the United States unfeasible.

Qatar’s emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, said his country will contribute $250 million to the fund, which he called for in an opening speech to an Arab summit in Doha that focused on the crisis in Syria and stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts.

“The summit… calls for setting up a fund to support Jerusalem to the value of $1 billion to finance projects and programs that would maintain the Arab and Islamic character of the city and reinforce the steadfastness of its people,” the draft resolution said.

What’s Happening in the Middle East – Part II

NEWS SOURCES TO CHECK

Our readers have searched the web for “Middle East,” “events,” “news,” and simply “what’s going on in the Middle East.” We previously responded with a link to World Watch Daily‘s web site (watch.org). Many of their daily reports relate to global politics, events related to Israel and the Arab states in the Middle East.

MEMRI: Here is another source that may open eyes with disturbing implications for days to come. The video posted below is provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI.org). We also encourage a visit to their home page and a reading of their “About Us” information. This is a web site to take seriously, by East and West!

DISTURBING BUT NOT UNEXPECTED — IS WAR SOON ON THE HORIZON?

The words expressed in the following MEMRI video fall in line, exactly, with what the Bible tells us will happen in the days ahead. The reality of this video footage brings us uncomfortably close to dire events … but as Scripture has it … these events will happen … the human will expressed is not peaceful but intent on bloodshed.

How do the majority of Muslims view these events —personally and deep from within the consciousness of a difference between good and evil — especially regarding the news from radical or extreme elements from the Middle East.

More importantly, we ask if the broader Arab public understands that the desire to invade and take over Israel and Jerusalem is recorded as the exact events that bring back the Messiah of Israel. That is a fact. This video ‘walks’ right into fulfilling the verses of Scripture – exactly! Get it? It’s real today in your presence — undeniably!

The Bible clearly states ‘nations’ will turn on Israel and that Jerusalem will be a focal point of battle and its people ravished, defiled, and persecuted. The Koran isn’t warning Muslims that jihad ends up in judgement by the Messiah, but then isn’t this exactly the direction we see from Egypt in the video?

THE WINDOW

Again, the window’s view is one of looking, thinking, and discerning for ourselves. With a world wide web of information access, any one of us can find out what is happening in the Middle East … and further draw conclusions about where the world is headed … to peace and harmony or to judgement.
