Talmud and Evidence for Messiah

WindowView presents a couple of articles that relate to writings in the Talmud that on the one hand provide evidence for who exactly IS the Messiah of Israel, and on the other hand writings that touch on a number of other related issues.

Some of our visitors have wanted to reproduce the page content on their web sites, but we have declined permission to do so.  One reason is simple, if the page is edited, their reproduction will be in error.  And a recent correction was in fact added to update the accuracy of the page.  You can however SHARE a PDF replica of the web page by downloading the PDF file HERE!  As long as you share the unaltered file in the form you receive from us, then we are happy to see you e-mail copies to family and friends!

Why is this article so popular? Frankly, having Jewish writers give an account of events that logically points to the true identity of Messiah is a kind of validation that actually should “send some chills down the spine!”  The unlikely source itself is saying “See, these events are miraculous and show the way to an identity.”

Signs of the Times — Human Trafficking

Slavery, selling the human soul, businesses that traffic in a human trade would seem unthinkable in a modern age, but this is in fact the present and future practice.

In a time when economic markets seem so uncertain and when the pundits and false prophets declare utter decline and economic collapse, THERE is one added perspective to keep in mind.  But like the child in the back seat of the car on a road trip who asks: “Are we there yet?”  The answer is that signs in these times say we are on the road, but scripturally speaking we have only signs … the real events that come with the destruction of the global economic system are still on the upcoming horizon.

Still, the really unsettling thing is that Human Trafficking is SO bad you can see billboards at a train station, TODAY, on this very topic.  Case in point, the photo we shot at one such place during September of 2011.  In part, we have arrived.

Without getting into an in depth Bible study, we refer you to the Book of Revelation in the Greek portion of the Scriptures.  The imagery here is of the very last days before Messiah comes.  When that is about to happen the global trade will still be in valuable resources … across the seas, as noted below.  And we have bolded the text at he end of verse 13, because the slavery and forced prostitution that exists today will be the trade of tomorrow … and then the end comes … and the material world will mourn for a moment, but then an end comes.

Rev. 18:1* ¶ After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory.  2* And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!  3* “For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” 4* And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5* “For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 6* “Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. 7* “In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ 8* “Therefore her plagues will come in one day–death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her. 9* “The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, 10* “standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’ 11* “And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: 12* “merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble;

13* “and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.

14* “The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. 15* “The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16* “and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17* ‘For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18* “and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’ 19* “They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’ 20* “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!”

We are inching our ways toward biblical truths … it’s happening all around us … are your ears open, do your eyes see it?

Palestinians Try a Fast One on the UN for Statehood

By David Dolan

Despite intense efforts during the past few months, the Israeli government, backed by the United States and the European Union, did not succeed in stopping Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas from taking his unilateral statehood proposal to the United Nations in late September.  Now all anxiously wait to see what the results will be and how the action might affect Israel, the region and the world.  Few expect the one-sided statehood bid will make things any better on the ground, with many stating just the opposite—it could open a can of worms that might plunge this turbulent region into new spasms of violence and possibly even warfare.  It will also further harm the regional standing of those countries who have already stated their opposition to the move, including the United States and Great Britain.  Read more …

As of this writing, the final outcome of the Palestinian Authority’s United Nations statehood bid is still unclear.  The PA’s decision to take their request for full statehood recognition first to the 15 member Security Council, where the United States has pledged to veto the move if necessary, will only prolong the UN process.  Some UN officials said a final vote on the issue might not be held for several more weeks.  There is even a possibility the PA proposal will be tabled, although most observers said that was unlikely given the rousing reception Mahmoud Abbas received when he presented his request for statehood status before the General Assembly. Read more …

However the Security Council member states vote, most analysts expect the Palestinian Authority will end up taking its statehood bid to the over 190 countries represented in the General Assembly.  In that much larger chamber, there is no doubt the PA will win overwhelming support, with only about sixty countries expected to either abstain or vote against the Abbas proposal.  Still, a General Assembly resolution is far less weighty than a Security Council endorsement (actual statehood status at the UN can only be granted by the Security Council), which is less declarative and more legally binding.  Nevertheless, a General Assembly vote of approval will at the very least give Abbas a moral victory, and also have several other effects the PA has been striving to achieve for several years. Read more …

To rapturous applause from most of the UN delegates, Abbas laid out his case for immediate statehood recognition on September 23rd.  However in the opening statement of a speech characterized as hateful and inciting by many Israeli analysts, the PA leader uttered something that many analysts said underscored the absurd nature of the PA’s position: “The Question of Palestine is intricately linked with the United Nations via the resolutions adopted by its various organs and agencies and via the essential and lauded role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East – UNRWA – which embodies the international responsibility towards the plight of Palestine refugees, who are the victims of al-nakba (Arabic for “the catastrophe”)  that occurred in 1948.” Read more …

To no ones surprise, most General Assembly delegates had left the hall before Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu gave his address a little over one hour later.  This did not stop him from delivering a heartfelt response to the PA leader’s remarks.  Although many commentators also opined that it was clear from his words and stand that he is more than weary with the rubber-stamp anti-Israel world body, where he began his public career as Israel’s ambassador in the early 1980s.

Netanyahu began his speech by alluding to the 1947 UN Partition Plan which the Arab world violently rejected:  “Ladies and gentlemen, Israel has extended its hand in peace from the moment it was established 63 years ago.  On behalf of Israel and the Jewish people, I extend that hand again today.  I extend it to the people of Egypt and Jordan, with renewed friendship for neighbors with whom we have made peace. I extend it to the people of Turkey, with respect and good will.  I extend it to the people of Libya and Tunisia, with admiration for those trying to build a democratic future.  I extend it to the other peoples of North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, with whom we want to forge a new beginning.  I extend it to the people of Syria, Lebanon and Iran, with awe at the courage of those fighting brutal repression.  But most especially, I extend my hand to the Palestinian people, with whom we seek a just and lasting peace.”

The Israeli leader then went on to note that the UN is often “a theatre of the absurd,” noting that “Gaddafi’s Libya chaired the UN Commission on Human Rights; Saddam’s Iraq headed the UN Committee on Disarmament.  You might say, ‘that’s the past.’  Well, here’s what’s happening now, right now, today.  Hizbullah-controlled Lebanon now presides over the UN Security Council.  This means, in effect, that a terror organization presides over the body entrusted with guaranteeing the world’s security.  You couldn’t make this thing up.” Read more …

In these dark and troubled times, it is good to declare anew with the ancient psalmist that “The Lord reigns!  He is clothed with majesty!  The Lord has clothed and girded Himself with strength!” (Psalm 93:1).

New Novel by David Dolan

… in his own words …

Shalom from Jerusalem,

September 28, is the official publication date for my new novel MILLENNIUM: THE LORD REIGNS.  My publisher in the USA has set up sales links on my web site.  This process took a bit longer than we expected (always a bug or two more than you hope for!) but it’s working now.  As mentioned last week, we are offering a special introductory discount price of just $12.95 per copy (the retail price is $15.95), and even less for orders of five copies or more, just $10.95 per copy.  A special half price deal is also being offered for my first companion novel, THE END OF DAYS, available for just $6.50 (list price $12.99).  However the web links for those deals are not yet set up, but orders can already be made via email at orders.millennium@gmail.com  In North America, you may also order via this toll free number: 888-639-8530.  All will soon be available from my web site, www.ddolan.com  We also filmed a short video about Millennium from my Jerusalem roof Monday morning, which will be posted on the YouTube web site soon (my channel is called DolanIsrael). I will send along the link.  I will be speaking in many parts of the UK next month and early November (see my web site for details, or the CFI UK web site, which has set up the tour) and in the NW American state of Oregon and in North Idaho later in November, and at the MJAA conference in Orlando FL in mid December.  I will have my novel available at all of those locations, and I hope my luggage as well!

Despite these turbulent days for Israel, the Middle East and much of the world, I sincerely wish all of my Jewish readers a very sweet Shana Tova for the Hebrew year 5772.  May it be a blessed year for each one of you, despite this troubled world, whether you are Jewish or not!

The State of the World Changes NOW

This post is being put to both our ‘Press’ and ‘Harmony’ blogs because the topics that we have just posted to our WindowView time line speak of a convergence of events on both the scientific and Scripture sides of the window’s view.

If you wish to visit the recent events of this year, go to the TimeLine and scan down the page.

Take note, that in a true biblical fashion, we are seeing a turn of major events in a number of significant venues. This is incredible pause for thought, yet it’s not some dire straights scenario, not yet anyway. Yet, that’s the point that many are wondering about in the back of their minds. Is it another depression coming over the surface of the entire globe, or does this fit something else equally significant.

Put it together in the following fashion, some events occur in the natural world (fire, drought, tsunami, earthquakes, weather events) that cause significant impact on the human psyche–globally, not just in one or two local areas. Then there is the economic venue which is of human making and this is of proportions that could topple governments, stock markets, and retirement funds–employment and commerce are at risk. A third factor is the unrest between nations. Events around the globe can all spin down to a critical focus on the Middle East. Unrest in the Middle East can undo a lot of progress or recovery elsewhere might that come along.

And we see signs of progress and ends to technical accomplishments as medicine finds solutions to disease and mean while a space program comes to a historic end.

The global signs are ‘Signs of the Times’ as expressed in the Bible. This all unfolds slowly, right before our eyes. to the material minded, the physical well-being seems uneasy. To the spiritually minded, the words of Scripture echo in the background.

One of the most popular areas of the WindowView is the Time Line.

Come for a look and think about what changes are altering the state of our world today!
