First: STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN

If you Google or Yahoo or Bing search the web “What Mormons Believe,” you will get a number of sites that are Mormon based.

And the language you read will sound reasonable.  But is it the whole story?

What if you search using the following: “what mormons really believe”

One basic conclusion from such a search is that Mormons do not believe what is entirely factual.

Our science based information here at the Window ( see Article Entitled: A BIOLOGIST EXAMINES THE BOOK OF MORMON ) suggests Mormon theology is not grounded on a sound testimony.

The Book of Mormon is scientifically inaccurate.  This is worrisome and reveals a disconnect between fact and the fiction in a book that is suppose to be a divine revelation to a ‘prophet of G_d.’  Is the book of Mormon factual? The reality is, there is NO original text to study.  So, you have scientific inaccuracy on the one hand and troubling disconnects on the scriptural side of the ‘equation.’  To see more on this aspect we suggest a visit to the CRC web site (to which we have no affiliation, as an example of many) to better understand Mormonism from another perspective.: What Mormon’s Don’t Tell

Romney might fix the US economy, based on a Mormon philosophy, but can he be effective in understanding the world political landscape and foreign policy.  Does he truly understand the importance of Israel and the grave aspects of what is staring us in the face in terms of critical global material challenges … or even biblical end time challenges from the spiritual side of the Window’s view?  Why are you voting for someone … do the reasons why really matter?  Our encouragement is to DIG a little deeper and THINK before you vote.

Obama: Is He the Better Choice?

We start this blog post focused on the reality of Mormonism as a belief system that cannot be sustained in the face of factual information.  Does that make the other candidate the choice by default?

This blog post is also not an endorsement of President Obama.  You still have to decide whether Mr. Obama is a solid choice, too.  From the Window perspective, we are aware that Mr. Obama calls himself Christian, attends church services, but also demonstrates a need to reveal a deeper understanding of what is in the Bible.

Some say he compromises too much, especially when it comes to Middle East politics and any show of deep support of Israel.  And there is evidence of these claims … it’s all a Google or Yahoo or Bing search on the web from appearing on your computer screen … and read … then decide.

WHAT Are Your Convictions?

Maybe the real conclusion is seeing less of a real choice … that is, if you have deep religious convictions (Messianic, Jewish, or Christian).  The implications for the days ahead of us boggle the mind.

America Needs A Good Candidate

Is the conclusion here that Mitt Romeny or Barack Obama are bad persons?  No.  The reality is that we are all human, living in the flesh, and prone to think and act in ways that have good intentions … but from a scriptural vantage point may be flawed and worthy of note.  It’s a tall order to ask any human to be perfectly Godly and live according to the Bible’s laws and commandments … but a sound biblical belief reveals an understanding based on fact and not fiction. Assumptions, rationalizations, and backing by deep pockets and slick TV ads are just ‘beating around the bush’ and avoiding the real choices we face.

Again, WindowView.org is here to get you to consider perspectives with themes that span the universe from science to Scripture.  What you conclude is up to you.  But ask yourself … if you have some facts to consider, isn’t that far better than making assumptions or wishing for things to be true WHEN they are NOT true at all!

As history reveals–by way of biology–even the bad guys don’t understand very much about who they are.  We offer the following bit of genetic evidence about Hitler.

2) We would be interested in the change in attitudes and related hatred that comes out of the Middle East if more males would be subject to a genetic screen. What is the DNA evidence?

The current atmosphere smacks of no less hatred–for the Jews and Israel–as espoused by Hitler before and by Iran’s theopoliticals today.  What irony and humiliation if the genetics of the Iranian political and religious leadership would put many or any in the same group as Hitler.  This is more than ideology, it’s science.

Read the Bible, read Purim, and understand that antisemitism has been with humanity for ages.  But really, why does this persist?  Is it just a rhetorical question? Why doesn’t the world just leave Israel alone and go on to resolve global problems? Environmentally the earth is wearing out like an old coat! Meanwhile. the Bible tells us that conflict will come and most any Bible believing person will tell you that the nations are expected to turn on Israel.  And Iran is proving the point in realtime. Is this not obvious? In fact some Iranians who do not agree with their leadership would say they see consequences coming! It’s obvious to these folks, so why not the rest of the world?

Again, the environment is in a gradual state of slipping backwards down a slippery slope.  And humanity fails to make a corporate–i.e., all humanity included–effort to resolve the problem. We wonder if the next “bad guy” will dazzle the earth’s population with promises of ecological salvation! (Do read between the prophetic lines here! Like they say … “bless and be blessed, curse and be cursed”  Do give this biblical notion some thought … and to all Iranians of hidden Jewish ancestry we say: Happy Purim!

And that includes being open to the prospect that currnet events will at times roll right into prophesy and themes that the Bible lays out as prophetic events leading to Messiah’s coming (again).

WANTED get your REWARD now!

For nearly two thousand years the reading of the Hebrew Bible has followed a pattern.  Weekly readings from the Torah have customarily been accompanied by other readings.  These added and selected readings have complemented the weekly study to give the person hearing the words an understanding of the Lord’s will.  BUT, one passage of Scripture has been passed over, year to year, Torah cycle to Torah cycle, for centuries.  The reasons for this goes to the heart of what may well be characterized as “hurt feelings” or “perceived confusion.”  We won’t go into detail here, just to summarize and say some of the reasons when explain in detail make sense … BUT this avoids the truth of a particular identity.  THAT IDENTITY is of the Jewish Messiah and the validation of that identity has been in the Hebrew Scriptures all along. So we ask: “How or why should anyone be offended by this truth!” This truly makes a life or death difference; to you!

OUTRAGEOUS GAP — NOW CLOSED

So, what we want to stress is something simple.  Regardless of what led up to the outrageous consequences of holding back the truth of the vital identity of the Jewish Messiah … what is really WANTED is to spread the truth of the identity … and it’s right there in the Hebrew text … just read it for your self!

Are there data to support the real location for the Ark of the Covenant, Noah’s Ark, the site where the Israelites crossed the sea?  Perhaps more convincing than UFOs or bumps that we hear in the night, archeological evidence for places and events recorded in the Bible can and have come to light.  In fact, many archaeological digs within the borders of Israel have aligned very nicely with clearly stated Scripture.

 Consider This!

Recently, we were sent an e-mail with an attached Power Point presentation.  The file for this PPS file can be downloaded here and you can view this without the software used to make the presentation.

We offer this more for fun than as proof.  Even the title of the presentation asks if we are witnessing fact or fiction.  Being objective is fair-minded.  Making a conclusion on limited information really requires more information.  From the WindowView perspective, more solid evidence and scientific confirmation would substantiate the information as presented.  Still, events are described and places where these events or objects are placed do exist.  So there is a story here to hold our interest.

 Multiple Perspectives – Make Your Own Conclusions

Still, part of what we share here involves the work of Ron Wyatt, now deceased.  Information is posted on a web site that directly supports his claims and listings along with speculations are given on a well-known wiki.    The Wyatt Museum  site even has withdrawn certain claims because those who now run the web site appear to be making an effort to post only what they can say is reliable.  That wins us over a bit, but still opens the questions to what is reliable evidence.  And that point you will see made at Wikipedia.  We welcome you to do some exploring on your own.  Our disclaimer is to be aware that this may be more for fun than data that is backed up with clarifications and further data.  Still, like noted above, the events and places cited have backing from writings that have many times been shown reliable.

 Is There Life Elsewhere in the Universe?

And then we are reminded that Scripture states that in time, like now perhaps, humanity will be approached by incredible findings.  The prospect that a current NASA probe to Mars may confirm former life activity on the now barren red planet could be likewise impressive.  At the Window we think it possible to be in possession of data that back up both the biblical accounts as well as data for ancient extinct life on Mars.  How so?  Other writings support the notion that microbial life on Mars could have easily originated from age-old Earth ejected materials landing on Mars.  Water on Mars is no longer of great quantity due to the loss of Mars ability to hold onto surface waters.  And NASA is driven by their compulsion to explore.  Images of the Mars’ surface strongly suggest water.  But if we find evidence for organic life once on that planet, it may be years before we understand the true origin of that life.  And we think the confusion will drive many a person to believe we are mere material beings with no spiritual hope of a greater truth.  And that point is critical to understanding who we really are, in reality.

Isn’t The Real Point Already Self Evident!

The point we are going to leave you with here is simple.  There is so much to the biblical account that is self-evident that further data in support of the explorations of a Ron Wyatt are really not so necessary.  In fact, the issue of sin is so self apparent and the Bible’s treatment of the subject so clear, we are well advised to contemplate the truths inherent in Scripture.  If you need a reminder as to the problem of sin, look at the evening news!  Look at the news from around the world!  So the information in the Power Point presentation is indeed interesting, certainly worth a deeper look, but not required to know that a faith in the God of Israel is warranted.  And that is where the future events lead all of humanity to a cross roads of decision.  An eternal destiny is in the balance … yours!

The photos and many points presented in the linked presentation are worth your attention.  If at the very least it opens the window a bit more and gets you to think about who you are and why we are alive … and what Eternity holds for us all … then that’s the main point … take a look and enjoy.

Slavery, selling the human soul, businesses that traffic in a human trade would seem unthinkable in a modern age, but this is in fact the present and future practice.

In a time when economic markets seem so uncertain and when the pundits and false prophets declare utter decline and economic collapse, THERE is one added perspective to keep in mind.  But like the child in the back seat of the car on a road trip who asks: “Are we there yet?”  The answer is that signs in these times say we are on the road, but scripturally speaking we have only signs … the real events that come with the destruction of the global economic system are still on the upcoming horizon.

Still, the really unsettling thing is that Human Trafficking is SO bad you can see billboards at a train station, TODAY, on this very topic.  Case in point, the photo we shot at one such place during September of 2011.  In part, we have arrived.

 THE SCRIPTURES SAY

Without getting into an in depth Bible study, we refer you to the Book of Revelation in the Greek portion of the Scriptures.  The imagery here is of the very last days before Messiah comes.  When that is about to happen the global trade will still be in valuable resources … across the seas, as noted below.  And we have bolded the text at he end of verse 13, because the slavery and forced prostitution that exists today will be the trade of tomorrow … and then the end comes … and the material world will mourn for a moment, but then an end comes.

Despite intense efforts during the past few months, the Israeli government, backed by the United States and the European Union, did not succeed in stopping Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas from taking his unilateral statehood proposal to the United Nations in late September.  Now all anxiously wait to see what the results will be and how the action might affect Israel, the region and the world.  Few expect the one-sided statehood bid will make things any better on the ground, with many stating just the opposite—it could open a can of worms that might plunge this turbulent region into new spasms of violence and possibly even warfare.  It will also further harm the regional standing of those countries who have already stated their opposition to the move, including the United States and Great Britain.  Read more …

UN SET TO SUPPORT PA MOVE

As of this writing, the final outcome of the Palestinian Authority’s United Nations statehood bid is still unclear.  The PA’s decision to take their request for full statehood recognition first to the 15 member Security Council, where the United States has pledged to veto the move if necessary, will only prolong the UN process.  Some UN officials said a final vote on the issue might not be held for several more weeks.  There is even a possibility the PA proposal will be tabled, although most observers said that was unlikely given the rousing reception Mahmoud Abbas received when he presented his request for statehood status before the General Assembly. THE NATIONS LINE UP

However the Security Council member states vote, most analysts expect the Palestinian Authority will end up taking its statehood bid to the over 190 countries represented in the General Assembly.  In that much larger chamber, there is no doubt the PA will win overwhelming support, with only about sixty countries expected to either abstain or vote against the Abbas proposal.  Still, a General Assembly resolution is far less weighty than a Security Council endorsement (actual statehood status at the UN can only be granted by the Security Council), which is less declarative and more legally binding.  Nevertheless, a General Assembly vote of approval will at the very least give Abbas a moral victory, and also have several other effects the PA has been striving to achieve for several years. Read more …

ALWAYS THE VICTIM

To rapturous applause from most of the UN delegates, Abbas laid out his case for immediate statehood recognition on September 23^rd.  However in the opening statement of a speech characterized as hateful and inciting by many Israeli analysts, the PA leader uttered something that many analysts said underscored the absurd nature of the PA’s position: “The Question of Palestine is intricately linked with the United Nations via the resolutions adopted by its various organs and agencies and via the essential and lauded role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East – UNRWA – which embodies the international responsibility towards the plight of Palestine refugees, who are the victims of al-nakba (Arabic for “the catastrophe”)  that occurred in 1948.” Read more …

NETANYAHU RESPONDS

To no ones surprise, most General Assembly delegates had left the hall before Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu gave his address a little over one hour later.  This did not stop him from delivering a heartfelt response to the PA leader’s remarks.  Although many commentators also opined that it was clear from his words and stand that he is more than weary with the rubber-stamp anti-Israel world body, where he began his public career as Israel’s ambassador in the early 1980s.

Netanyahu began his speech by alluding to the 1947 UN Partition Plan which the Arab world violently rejected:  “Ladies and gentlemen, Israel has extended its hand in peace from the moment it was established 63 years ago.  On behalf of Israel and the Jewish people, I extend that hand again today.  I extend it to the people of Egypt and Jordan, with renewed friendship for neighbors with whom we have made peace. I extend it to the people of Turkey, with respect and good will.  I extend it to the people of Libya and Tunisia, with admiration for those trying to build a democratic future.  I extend it to the other peoples of North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, with whom we want to forge a new beginning.  I extend it to the people of Syria, Lebanon and Iran, with awe at the courage of those fighting brutal repression.  But most especially, I extend my hand to the Palestinian people, with whom we seek a just and lasting peace.”

The Israeli leader then went on to note that the UN is often “a theatre of the absurd,” noting that “Gaddafi’s Libya chaired the UN Commission on Human Rights; Saddam’s Iraq headed the UN Committee on Disarmament.  You might say, ‘that’s the past.’  Well, here’s what’s happening now, right now, today.  Hizbullah-controlled Lebanon now presides over the UN Security Council.  This means, in effect, that a terror organization presides over the body entrusted with guaranteeing the world’s security.  You couldn’t make this thing up.” Read more …
