You NEED to Watch as a Watchman: Brigitte Gabriel Speaks at 2015 Watchment on the Wall Conference

If you watch what this lady is saying … no matter how she gets to the point of greatest concern … the POINT IS the world at large is still in a stupor and asleep in the face of crisis that grew from mild heat to hot crisis that encircles the globe. THIS IS THE “OTHER CLIMATE CHANGE.” What are you doing about it? If you are a peaceful Muslim maybe you are disturbed or just quiet … but for all others, the expansion of persecution is getting old and maybe OBVIOUS to the point many grow numb! What is to become of the human race … if their god won’t be saving you … WHO will do the salvation thing for you?

Watch … think … you live on the same planet with everyone else …

Brigitte Gabriel : At the 2015 Watchmen on the Wall Conference I was honored to share my story about how I, as a young girl, almost died at the hands of radical Islam. I outlined the plan of the Muslim Brotherhood and how they have planned and have been executing the destruction of the West. I also discuss how this infiltration is happening through our education system–indoctrinating our the most vulnerable individuals, our children.

Middle East Snap Shot October 10

This week from these stories and more:

Abbas working to restore calm in West Bank, Israeli defense sources say

Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas is exerting his influence in an attempt to ease tensions and restore quiet on the ground in the West Bank, Israeli defense sources told Israel Radio on Friday.

According to the report, Israeli security heads are trying to figure out ways to adequately cope with “lone wolf” attackers.

Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, accused Abbas of “treason” on Friday for maintaining security cooperation with Israel.

Mahmoud al-Zahar, a senior member of the Hamas political bureau, told supporters in Gaza on Friday that the group’s chief rival, Abbas, was guilty of “a crime” and that the PA head would one day “stand trial.”

Hamas leader declares ‘intifada’ in the West Bank

Hamas’s chief in Gaza on Friday called violence that has hit Israel and the West Bank in recent days an “intifada” and urged further unrest.

“We are calling for the strengthening and increasing of the intifada… It is the only path that will lead to liberation,” Ismail Haniyeh said during a sermon for weekly Muslim prayers at a mosque in Gaza City.

“Gaza will fulfill its role in the Jerusalem intifada and it is more than ready for confrontation,” he added.

Netanyahu: The Islamist extremism plaguing the Middle East has arrived at Israel’s doorstep

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke out Thursday amid a wave of terror attacks that have hit Israel in recent days, saying that the Islamist extremism plaguing the Middle East has arrived at Israel’s doorstep as well.

“Hateful terrorists are trying to hurt our people,” Netanyahu said, praising security forces for their bravery in combating the attacks.

Israel has always known how to push back the terrorists and build the country and “we will defeat them this time as well,” Netanyahu said.

He said that the terror was not organized, but nonetheless came as the result of a campaign of incitement by Hamas, the Islamic Movement in Israel, the Palestinian Authority and countries in the region, particularly lies about Israel seeking to change the status quo at the Temple Mount, a flashpoint for violence during the recent tensions.

Putin’s boost in battle against ISIS: China preparing to ‘team up with Russia in Syria’

Reports from Russia and the Middle East have both said China’s armed forces are on the way to Syria

Russia has carried out a series of deadly airstrikes against the terrorist group over the last few days and Vladimir Putin has now sent the country’s most elite special forces team into the war zone.

And speculation is heightening that offensive will be bolstered by the China’s People’s Liberation Army, following a number of reports of military movements in the region backed up by strong words from a senior government member at a United Nations meeting.

Reports emanating from the Middle East last week said China was planning on joining the fight against ISIS “in the coming weeks”, according to a Syrian army official.

While Beijing insists it will abide by the United Nations (UN) in the region, hints of an action were backed up when it spoke strongly about a coordinated response to the rising terrorist threat.

FBI: Dozens in U.S. in Secret Conversations With ISIS

FBI Director James Comey says dozens of people in the U.S. are using encryption software to communicate with ISIS supporters.

At a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on the terror threat on Thursday, Comey repeated his concern, expressed over the past several months, that people in the U.S. who begin conversations with ISIS supporters on Twitter and other social media then shift to encrypted conversations that the FBI cannot monitor, even with a court order.

Asked today to put a number on the problem, Comey responded simply, “dozens.”

Russia’s Syria intervention may force choice on Obama: Act or Yield.

Russia’s military moves in Syria are fundamentally changing the face of the country’s civil war, putting President Bashar al-Assad back on his feet, and may complicate the Obama administration’s plans to expand its air operations against the Islamic State.

So far, the administration has not budged in its twofold strategy — direct airstrikes against the Islamic State and significant aid for those fighting against it, and a push for negotiations to end what has been the largely separate Syrian civil war.

Senior administration officials acknowledge that Russia has already made some tactical gains in the civil war, even as they insist President Vladimir Putin will ultimately pay for what they describe as a strategic blunder that will undercut his already tenuous reputation in the world and encourage the spread of militants.

A Bible Verse Out of Context is a Pre-text and Misrepresentation

We were sent an article by a friend via email.  The topic was the events in the Middle East and End Times.

With so many changes over the entire globe in what seems like a blink of an eye, should we be concerned for what might well be biblical truth unfolding before our very eyes?

We refer you to the original article HERE.  (title: MAHDI TO RETURN BY 2016, FOLLOWED BY JESUS?)

The article includes a street view in Iran with an image of Jesus walking behind the Islamic Mahdi. This may be unsettling to Christians and perhaps even to many Jewish citizens inside and outside of Israel. What is the Mahdi and what impact does this figure have on the news coming tomorrow? The article says the Mahdi comes soon. How can we put this in context with the present events of today?

To bring the entire topic into context, the article refers to a video you can obtain on DVD. But in the age of the Internet the video is also on YouTube in sections (1 to 7). The first section is linked here, but you can visit YouTube to access all seven sections if you are interested.

The article noted above also contains a link to a web site promoting Islam. In taking a look there we see a comprehensive presentation on Islam. Interesting as a source, but what might a discerning mind discover there?

Many in congregations across the globe, those that make an effort to study the Bible, know that word play and taking Scripture verses out of context leads to misrepresntation. What is worse, few actually go back to the original Greek or Hebrew words to glean the original meaning that sometimes is muddled by translation to another language, including English.

When we went to a section of the web site on Islam that claimed that the Bible has references that reveal the true nature to Christianity, and thus the implication is a faith something less than the beliefs and tenants of Islam, we were curious to see if anything is out of context.

A real study of Scripture comes by reading what comes before and after a verse. That puts meaning in context. Taking a verse alone first risks being a pre-text that leads to prejudice, but worse, if word order is reversed or convoluted, the entire meaning can be shifted.

Let’s look at just one example the Islamic web page cites to apparently represent the true nature to Christianity (the bold and text format are copied from the original page):

6. “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:26)

Notice how the wording suggests you need to (actively “does”) hate your family in order to be a Christian! But move the word not to after the word hate (and remove the ‘does’ from ‘does not’) and the whole meaning shifts.  Looking at the original Greek the wording comes like so:

“…And to him crowds many; and turning He said them, If anyone comes to Me and not hates the father of him and the mother, an wife, and the children, and the brothers, and the sisters, besides and even the of himself soul, not he is able of Me disciple to be …”

The word ‘does’ is not in the Greek.

Many English translations state: “If anyone comes to me and hates not his father …”

What is the real intent of the Scripture verse?

The problem is the Islamic web page wants you to believe Christianity is a religion of hate—even to the point of hating your own family in order to follow Jesus.  But the entire context of the Gospel speaks to loving your neighbor, your enemy, even Muslims (!) and understanding that our lives are a time of sojourning on earth to something eternal. And Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah, is the way, the truth, and essentially the only door to a relationship with the Father in heaven (John 14:6). Jesus also claims and demonstrates He is God (proof in that only He fulfills the Hebrew Bible’s prophecies, by performing miracles, by teaching in ways that are universally understood through parables, and yes, He came in a man-suit to walk amongst us, to be the ultimate mediator for sin and a way to salvation), which places Him above the status of being a prophet only (which is indeed one of his array of characteristics, but not sole role).

Let’s put the single verse back into context.  The requires reading the broader text all around the one verse. We will defer to someone who has long commented on the biblical text to a wide radio audience … J. Vernon McGee comments on Luke 14:25-27 by saying: “These verses are simply saying that we should put God first. A believer’s devotedness to Jesus Christ should be such that, by comparison, it looks as if everything else is hated. All terms which define affections are comparative.”  (see: “Thru The Bible with J. Vernon McGee,” 1983)

This point is further affirmed by a following verse 33: “So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.” And so it is not hate, but to dislike all by comparison to placing all behind us as we join in relationship with Messiah.

As John Lennox puts it: “They must be ready to “hate” -— that is, give second place to and, if need be, let go — all else …” (‘Against the Flow,’ page 150)

Examined in yet another way, as Lennox puts it: “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had to make up their own minds as to whether they were going to put God first.” (‘Against the Flow,’ page 147) And after putting God above all, even their own lives, they were thrown into a furnace. But unlike burning for martyrdom’s sake, faith brings life not death or a false promise of paradise. The God of Israel and Messiah are all about life, not hate, not death, or persecution … because life is an opportunity to choose Him. Anyone who removes that opportunity from you is not of God.

The real rub with missing the context and meaning of the biblical text is a misrepresentation. If you follow the links on this page you may well go on to study other Bible verses that at first appear to make one point, but upon further study tells us something more consistent with the message in the entire Bible. hatred of family is hardly the message of the text. In fact, the entire Hebrew and Greek body of Scripture are designed to point to Yeshua and His role as the Jewish Messiah. To disagree is to take something out of the context of the entire Bible! The entire text points to the God of Israel and what He will do through the nation Israel. Is that any surprise? Might that take us back to the article, video, and topic of the end time referenced above.

Please think. Discern before jumping to conclusions.

unChristian Faith Refresher

The title above is one of this things that reads the opposite of the underlying intention. A book entitled “unChristian” is the inspiration of this post. But read the book and you will be sobered by multiple realities, for those who hold to biblical faith and those who have put faith in Bible as a mere side note to life.

Further below we provide an image of the book cover and a link to the book at Amazon. Take a look and read the reviews if you like.

The majority of the text to unChristian addresses a rather in-depth assessment of Christianity in language most Westerners would find familiar. But the revelations come by marketing analyses and surveys of young persons and then place that in the context of society today.

Bottom line to all this might be stated, at least in one way, as: “Bible believers and those outside the faith are both in trouble. Both are not on sound footing. Christians need to hold to the real core values of their faith and this means putting love in place of the “anti-this and anti-that” opinions that outsiders have of Christians. What’s worse, but not having a factual example to refer to, outsiders are not getting real information that should garner true attention to what biblical faith is, really is.”

Getting facts straight works in all directions. Misperceptions are often hard to correct, unless good examples come along.

There is a ‘window perspective’ we have to all this.  And this comes from the Bible itself. In the last book there are seven letters delivered to seven churches (and to be clear the English word church really should be translated as ‘group of believing people,’ because at the time the letters were written these groups included both Jew and Gentile … whose faith was based on Messiah). The last letter typifies where we are on Earth today, in that many who profess to be believers are neither hot or cold. Being lukewarm is not acceptable.

And this is where we are today. Many believers are lukewarm. Many non-believing (non-Christian, non-Messianic, secular, atheist, agnostic, etc.) are lukewarm (to more than to just biblical core values).

In the weeks to come will add new pages that address factual information that is illustrated in ‘unChristian.’ Until we do, we wish to leave the believing community (those who declare a faith in Messiah, Yeshua, Jesus) with points for a refresher.

What might believers focus on to tighten their focus on faith.  The following seven elements are from the book:

– worshipping God intimately and passionately

– engaging in spiritual friendships with other believers

– pursuing faith in the context of family

– embracing intentional forms of spiritual growth

– serving others

– investing time and resources in spiritual pursuits

– having faith-based conversations with outsiders

(p78, unChristian)

The world has grown ever more complex and confused. The focus on faith has blurred as social issues stray from a morality that was clearly evident in previous generations. To distinguish oneself today may make us feel a bit odd, but that’s because the world at large is on a tangent. It’s not good news what’s going on in the world. What is good news is being a part of what transforms us daily and what becomes a good example to those around us. That example removes negativity about faith and sheds light on the real promise for life.

The Seventh Letter … from Revelation 3:14-22:   14* “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:  15* “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.  16* “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.  17* “Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’ –and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked–  18* “I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.  19* “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent   20* “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21* “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22* “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’”

Convergence – Three Vanatage Points In One

WindowView points to a Convergence

As the new format was being created, there was a need to integrate all of the content. New navigation features help, but a new emphasis on what really summarizes the content throughout the site was desperately needed. In the past there were summary sections and a few pages entitled Convergence, but what really are we talking about?

To keep this post simple, here is one way of looking at convergence at WindowView: “Few people really stop to look at life and to understand that what is happening around the globe today was actually anticipated centuries ago.”

If you glean the key realizations in the areas dealing with Change, Science, and Harmony … plus take a peek at the Timeline, you will see that there is an explanation for life and what is happening in the world today. Resistance to seeing where the evidence leads us … is an issue for you or others around you. In a nutshell, life is an opportunity to “get the idea why we are here” and to further understand there is a promise extended to all of us. There is even a page within the window that describes the promise.

If you visit the window, please send a comment, there are little notebook and pencil icons all around the site. Let us know what you think!

Window Relaunched: New Format & Content

No more beta testing for now … we have gone live!

Try it out!

The new format and a number of improvements including the new video introductions, Overview and Thesis pages help to better define the over intent, content, and purpose of WindowView.

We’ve even updated the comment feature … let us know what you think!

WindowView to Relaunch Next Week!

A new version of the WindowView site is planned for a launch online by July 25th, 2013.

If you visited before, all your bookmarks are still good! But the crisp new pages will give a vastly improved look and feel! If you visited before it’ll look like a new window! We are excited to finally be at the point of making this announcement!

For the past ten months, the web pages have been undergoing a process that will result in the following:

– New format for the entire web site
– New Introduction pages, with videos, Overview and a Thesis page for each main feature area
– New summary section entitled “Convergence”
– Better navigation features and reorganized menus
– Upgrades to HTML5 and use of CSS style sheets for more responsive web viewing
– New use of web based fonts
– Each page will now have a unique header photograph, some from far off, others from near by
– New video content, plus a video format that neither requires Flash or QuickTime
– Page dimensions that suit visitors on computers, hand held, or other mobile devices
– Attention to compatibility with most popular browsers – but we recommend using the most recent version of any browser for the best viewing experience. Our favorites include Safari and Chrome, followed by the newest Internet Explorer, with FireFox and Opera in the rear. The former browser types work best with the mp4 videos (the better quality format)

While all the above stated improvements will help make the ‘window’ more effective, some content is now offline in anticipation of content upgrades, to selected pages, that are planned for the months to come. In fact, recent developments give cause for some significant content upgrades that we hope will be incorporated in the weeks to come, sooner, as opposed to later this year.

Finally, an update to the comment feature is included in this update. We hope visitors will write notes and provide feedback.

A New Harmony on the Way – Intro Video

We are still working on the last ten percent of the list of items to complete before posting a completely updated WindowView.

In the process draft introduction videos are being created. Here is the one for the Harmony Area (file may not load into all versions of browsers, best to use latest IE, Chrome, or Safari).

We provide a link back to this page when you are done viewing …

Isaiah Wrote About Damascus

The burden against Damascus. “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be a ruinous heap. The cities of A-rōer are forsaken; They will be for flocks Which lie down, and no one will make them afraid. The fortress also will cease from Ēphra-im, The kingdom from Damascus, And the remnant of Syria; They will be as the glory of the children of Israel,” Says the Lord of hosts. “In that day it shall come to pass That the glory of Jacob will wane, And the fatness of his flesh grow lean. It shall be as when the harvester gathers the grain, And reaps the heads with his arm; It shall be as he who gathers heads of grain In the Valley of Repha-im. Yet gleaning grapes will be left in it, Like the shaking of an olive tree, Two or three olives at the top of the uppermost bough, Four or five in its most fruitful branches,” Says the Lord God of Israel. In that day a man will look to his Maker, And his eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel. He will not look to the altars, The work of his hands; He will not respect what his fingers have made, Nor the wooden images nor the incense altars. In that day his strong cities will be as a forsaken bough And an uppermost branch, Which they left because of the children of Israel; And there will be desolation. (Isaiah 17:1-9 NKJV)

Read all of Isaiah 17 … But simply put, Damascus is in ruins, politically, physically, spiritually today.

Event Horizon: The Scriptural End Time Milestone

A view to the current turn of events in the Middle East reveal a “global turn” against Israel. The biblical description of that nations turn against Israel is now coming to the forefront in a big way. Take this as evidence the we are now watching biblical prophecy in motion, or at the very least a trend that essentially supports the concept. The objective look is simply to acknowledge these headlines from as evidence that fills the WidowView … are you aware, watching, looking?

‘There is no power in the world that can disconnect the Jewish people from the land of Israel,’ Netanyahu says

“The UN resolution will not change anything on the ground… it won’t bring a Palestinian state closer to existence, but push it further away,” Netanyahu said at a conference marking the 35th anniversary of Egyptian president Anwar Sadat’s historic visit to Jerusalem.

“Israel’s hand is extended in peace, but there will not be a Palestinian state without the recognition of Israel as a Jewish state,” the prime minister told the audience at Jerusalem’s Menachem Begin Heritage Center. “A Palestinian state will never be established without a declaration on ending the conflict… and the establishment of security arrangements to protect the State of Israel and its citizens.”

“No matter how many hands are raised [at the UN], there is no power in the world that can disconnect the Jewish people from the land of Israel,” Netanyahu concluded.
