Thesis: Window on Time
A WindowView thesis is a proposition stated for consideration and is intended to be discussed and maintained against objections by a sound defense.
Time tells us where we have been ... TIME tells us where we are ... Time TELLS us where we are now headed ... follow the times ... see the future!
The thesis: By observing events along a time line, from eternity past, we can follow forward to eternity future. Information from science, change, and from Scripture all reveals what that future will be.
The window includes the timeline as a comparative tool. Consider this, in the book of Daniel there is the following v erse ...
12:4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
The writer's words convey an interesting thought on two fronts.
First, as we approach the end of the age we are currently living in, humans will have increased knowledge ... enough information to SEE exactly who we are, how we got here, and the spiritual as well as material implications. We ARE today at that point in time.
Second, we have entered a final era where we can travel the globe. We go to and fro with ease. This travel let's us see the entire globe and all perspectives on human activities. This allows the chronology as presented in the biblical text to be a global reality. Certain Scriptures speak to a global experience. In prior centuries this was not possible. Today, by travel and communications, the entire globe has arrived at the conditions necessary to conclude the next steps in the chronology.
The WindowView Thesis on time supports the concept that multiple informational perspectives can easily and clearly reveal where humanity is headed. Further, we have a choice to choose life just for now or for eternity ahead of us. Science and Scripture provide information to see the larger window view. Unique insights presented in this framework jolt us into seeing reality in a context that is remarkable. Once you see it ... reality revealed anew ... you will never view your life as you did before looking through this window!
